The Conquistadors Drum & Bugle Corps is holding its 1st annual Membership Day tomorrow, January 28th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Owego, NY. The event marks the first step in returning competitive drum and bugle corps to the Southern Tier in nearly a decade.
All interested musicians are welcome to join us in celebrating the birth of the Conquistadors drum corps. Bring your drum sticks or mouthpiece and horn and sit in with us for our first rehearsal! Membership is open to anyone over age 11. Be prepared to play and have a great time.
The event kicks off at 5:00 with announcements and a welcome from corps director Harry Eldridge, Jr. followed by sectional rehearsals. The brass line and percussion section will break off to work with their instructors on exercises and parade music. The Conquistadors Winterguard will also be rehearsing their 2011 production.
At the end of the night all sections will come together for a "show and tell" of what they all learned during the night.
