Chuck D'Imperio's latest "Upstate Book", is a fascinating look at 25 significant and insignificant people, places and events that have made Upstate a place where history truly happened! Find out a tragic Dutch ship disaster in Albany; the birthplace of the ice cream sundae and the invention of America's favorite "jigglie" dessert (Jell-O) to the first U.S. Army Calvary charge to a revered place called "Safe Haven" the stories are fun and fascinating and Chuck presents all with his usual sense of humor.
On Saturday, February 12th the social begins with a luncheon from 12:00 –1:00 with the presentation beginning at 1:00. The program highlights Chuck’s research for his book taking us through some little known tidbits of history found in our own backyard.
“Big Chuck” who lives in Oneonta, is a long time award winning radio broadcaster at WDOS in Oneonta. He is author of several books and many have attended his presentations on his books “Great Graves of Upstate New York” or “My Town is a Cathedral”. He is one of Upstate’s most “in demand” public speakers with more than 40 presentations annually.
