I went on a wine tour and got engaged!

On December 4, 2010, I woke up around 7 am already very eager and anxious to go on a wine tour with my boyfriend, friends and family. What I didn't know however was that Brandon, my boyfriend, was even more eager than I was for a very different reason. We met up with our family and friends at a park and ride where we caught the party bus that was going to take us to all the wineries that day. It was a fun 45 minute ride up to the Ithaca area, with much laughter involved, even though it was only around 8:30 am at this time. We then arrived at the first winery, called Six Mile Creek. Everyone got out of the bus for the annual group photo and then proceeded inside to start the wine tour. My friend Theresa and I were walking around and she asked me to come outside with her. We were taking pictures of the beautiful snow covered vineyard, and awing at how beautiful the snow falling looked. I then wanted to go back inside, and so did she, so we started for the doors inside to the warmth, when all of a sudden Brandon comes out, followed by our friend Jenn. She told us she wanted to get a few pictures of us outside by the snow covered vineyards. I thought it was a neat idea and a great memory I could add to my scrap book. So she took a few pictures, and then I was ready to go inside to get warm. With my first step forward, I felt Brandon grab my left arm. I turned to him and looked into his eyes. He told me he said something to ask me. Me being cold, and ready to go inside,I then said "what?", more or less kind of dreading to be out in the cold for a small bit longer. He then got down on one knee and said those famous words I've been waiting to hear since I was a little girl. Of course I said yes! But then handed the ring back to him and told him he hand to put it on my finger and not just hand it to me! He did and then many pictures were taken and apparently also was a video (I had no idea it was being taken until much later). The day before, my now fiancé went to all of my close families homes, my Dad, my Grandparents, and my Aunt Cathy, and asked for their permission. They had all told him yes. My best friend, who also happens to be my cousin, went around with him and told him he would video tape it.

I thank God everyday for the wonderful gift he has given me. Without Brandon, I would be lost. He is everything to me. I am so fortunate to have him in my life.
