Our Engagement Photo

Christmas Day Surprise Proposal

It was Christmas morning, 2009; our 6th Christmas as a couple. I had woken up, poured my coffee, and began opening presents. It was an average Christmas morning. After the last present was unwrapped, I began cleaning up the piles of decorated Christmas wrapping, as he says "Look on the tree. You have one more." After an excitedly thorough search of the 5.5 foot artificial pine, there it was, draped beautifully on a large blue bow with matching blue ribbon. It shined brighter than my late grandmother's star that adorned the top of my tree. He looks at me and says "Engagement?". I was so excited, I put it on and started dancing around the living room.

I have not taken off this ring since that day, as we are planning an end of summer/early fall 2012 wedding.
