I took this photo @ the new boat launch at the Mouth of the River whare it meets the Owego creek..Does anybody know what this is really called .??? I herd that they are a protected species???pleas reply...P.S. I let it go free after the photo shoot..

thanks to all for the feedback..,I did find this on the n.y.s.c...it is a Yellow spotted Salimander..Not the larger endangered ,Tiger Salimander it can grow to over a foot long .the Yellow Spotted Salimander can grow to 12 inches.
