My fiancée (boyfriend for 3 years at the time) Alex of Philadelphia PA was visiting for a week, and he took me out for dinner on the Friday night of January 7th 2011. After dinner he suggested we go for a walk at the Washington Street Bridge. I love walking there because it is so beautiful and I love the view of Downtown from there.
When we arrived at the bridge, he insisted that we go towards the little landing area where the two rivers meet and is very romantic. But when we got there, there were candles all around and candles laid out in the shape of a heart. At that moment I knew what was going to happen and got very very excited! So he led me into the heart and proposed to me.
As soon as I said yes, out of nowhere behind me fireworks started going off! I always knew Alex to be crazy like that but I definitely didn't expect him to set off fireworks in downtown Binghamton!
So what happened behind the scenes of all that is: his friends came up from Philly and set it all up for him (and well,us). After that we all went over to my house where my family set up a surprise party for me too.
