held hostage by mother bear & cubs

This mother bear with her 2 cubs were up the pine tree 20ft from our back door. They had been there since at least 6:30am and finally climbed down just before 3pm and ran off. It was exciting and scary at the same time.

You're lucky. Bears are pretty rare. I've only seen one in extreme northern NY. I bet I would have bears on my property but this gun nut up the road from me who shoots every day practically (illegally), probably has thousands of animals he poached :/
