A MOTHER’S LOVE
The mysteries of birth are surrounded by
the warmth of a woman who can’t deny,
a small human being so helpless and small
who’ll depend on its Mother for all.
As Mother nurtured us along the way,
I felt a sense of love and prayers she would say,
for her young children to survive in a world
that could be filled with trials and ordeals,
always knowing Guardian Angels were there to heal.
She’d beckon her little ones close to her
trying to protect them from pain and sorrow,
knowing of life’s uncertain tomorrows.
Her faith always helped her to restore,
her sense of well being that could be tore,
by the dark shadows of life that were ready to take
her children, their happiness and all they hold dear,
while shedding many silent tears that only our God could hear.
Now that we’re grown and have our own lives,
Mother looks over us with Guardian Angels close by.
She unties the apron strings sending her children on a path,
but doesn’t take the apron off in case they come back,
to that woman who long ago held her small child to her breast.
Knowing the day would come when she could finally rest,
believing in God she had done her best.
A Mother’s love gives comfort and caring,
throughout one’s life she is always sharing,
a piece of her heart and always parenting.
Remember your Mom as she held you tight
trying to protect you from struggles and strife.
Praying to God who took her hand
and washed away the fear so she could stand,
fighting forces who stood in the way
and tried to interfere with God’s plans every day.
A Mother’s love is a blessing you’ll find
warmth and shelter of an intangible kind,
So look to the heavens and thank God above
for the miracle as sweet as “A Mother’s Love“.
