Gustav "Skip" Landen, an Ithaca College professor started the Golden Doorknob competition in 1970 and continued it until his retirement in 1991. The assignment was simple: make a short film that presents the most imaginable way to kill someone with a doorknob. The contest was revived in 2009 and two Ithaca College competed and received an honorable mention at Friday's ceremony. Judges included professors at Ithaca College as well as alumni including film producers Dan Heffner and Bill Carruaro.
David Allen, an Oxford Academy 2009 graduate, along with his friend Stephen Burke entered their short golden doorknob film entitled "The Audition." The video has been posted online for your enjoyment.
