The young ospreys in Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge have grown considerably in two weeks. Like the eagles located there, the young osprey are flapping their wings and sitting up in their nest watching for their parents to bring food. The parents are beautiful large raptors with dark brown upperparts and light gray to white on the head and underparts. Their black eye patch gives them a distinctive look. The young have very attractive faces with their white heads and black eye patches.
