Two young Screech Owls recently left the nest to explore their world. After taking their 1st flights, the pair nearly met a premature end to traffic on Powderhouse Road in Vestal Center, NY. Thankfully, they were escorted to safety away from the road into a nearby wooded lot.
Fledgling Screech Owls take the leap.

Wonderful pictures! I love owls and have yet to find any in nature to observe or to photograph.

I heard an owl a month or 2 ago, maybe it was them. I've noticed less mice, maybe they helped take care of that. Owls are great animals, very helpful. I'd like a hawk to visit my yard and take out those pesky squirrels, and maybe the chipmunks too.
