So hot that even the river is like bath water, unfortunately because of the flood of 2006 one can smell the fuel oil, kerosene, and other pollutants introduced into the river fermenting in this heat. Salt Springs State Park, has clean cool mountain water flowing almost all year, easy to moderate hiking trails, and several pools of water to wade through or sit in. You will almost always find people there relaxing the day away I know I do. Take NY 7 to PA 29. At Franklin Forks, turn right onto Silver Creek Road and follow for one mile to the park entrance.
