Fans of Chris Young came from all over to see their favorite country singer play at the 2011 Spiedie Fest. As a long time members of "Young Country" we locals had given up the hope that he would ever appear at the Fest, especially following his recent success of having four number one hits on the country charts in a row! However, this was our year! A Young Country compound was set up at the left of the stage and 30 fan club members from as far away as Virginia and as near as Vestal gathered in their Chris Young tee shirts. Starting at 10 am, they hung banners, laid tarps and set up chairs creating a party atmosphere. Once Chris hit the stage they sang every song with him, cried during the ballads, laughed at his tongue in cheek lyrics, and even had a dance floor for slow dancing to old Keith Whitley songs. When it was over, hugs were given and we all agreed to meet at the next concert. That's what a Young Country family gathering is all about!
