During our early morning excursions in the Adirondacks, we were delighted to find some lovely loons on Long Lake in the Adirondacks in the early morning mists. We were surprised to see what wonderful swimmers the loons were. They dove underwater for several minutes and returned to the water's surface 20 to 30 feet away!
