After the floods of 2006 Owego's Brickpond was left high and dry. There was a fear that it might cause additional flooding if anything was done to return it to it's original state as a wetland preserve owned by the Waterman Conservation Center. The large amount of rain this year including hurricane Irene is returning Brickpond to how it once was, once again providing a shelter for the many birds and other creatures that would make a stop.
It is well worth a trip to Owego to see this amazing property.
