Flooding on Wallace Road

This is just part of the flooding we experienced on Wallace Road in the Town of Chenango on Wednesday September 7th. The photo I submitted was taken at approximately 5pm, and proceeded to get worse. By 10pm, the driveway visible in the photo (ours) was flooding, along with the rest of our road (and roads connected through Morningside Heights - very, very dangerous late last night). Our basement was taking on water at a shocking rate, and the water behind our house (in the video) was threatening to flood our first floor - much worse than the video taken around 3pm. Most of Wallace Road was becoming impassible, so we evacuated to a hotel off of Front Street in Binghamton. Us, along with most if not all of our neighbors, had to leave. We live nowhere near the river, this was all caused by a flooding creek behind our houses - between Smith Hill Road and Wallace Road. Nobody gave us information, except NYSEG. If not for them, and our amazing neighbors, we would be trapped in our house, most likely on the second floor. Me being 8 months pregnant, that would not have been an ideal situation. I just wanted to submit this so people can see how bad it was for us, and maybe get some attention from local emergency facilities or whomever, since in the future we'd like to be at least thought of and not completely ignored.
