After the fact

The photo doesn't tell the real story

This was the view at approximately 7:30pm on Saturday evening 10 Sept. '11 from the parking lot of the Crowley Foods plant on Conklin Ave looking towards downtown. The Exchange St. bridge is visible on the left.

I had to drive into Binghamton Saturday evening to address some network issues for the company that I work for. I hadn’t been in there (Binghamton) since all of the flooding had started happening. Who would have known that when I cut out of work a little early on Wednesday afternoon — 1:30′ish (because I kept hearing ominous things about road closures, roads being washed away, etc…. ) that I wouldn’t be coming back in the next day. Or two days. Or three. The flood of 2011 blew the flood of 2006 away – this one was way worse.

Beauty amongst the ruins. Nature is so fickle. Nice picture!
