"Sweetheart Comfort Quilts"

The Mello-Dears are starting work on a project they will call "Sweetheart Comfort Quilts". With so many donations to the distribution center they held for two weeks at their Bingo Hall, and very few places to take the volume of clothing they received, "recycle, re-purpose, reuse" is the current Mantra. "Sweethearts of the Southern Tier" was the nick name for Mello-Dears and plays a part in their project name. ("Sweetheart Comfort Quilts) With a start from the "Linus Project" (Lynn Augenstern and Joann Fisher)of 48 quilts afghans and blankets. The Mello-Dears will begin making quilts themselves, out of material from donated clothing overflow. If you are lucky enough to get one, you will know by the green heart embroidered in one corner. Mello-Dears with the help of Neighborhood volunteers Linda Lanning and Sandra Gorney, will be distributing quilts to flood victims in need, and contacting local churches for names to add to their list.
