The Sweetheart Quilters (a group that formed, to recycle donated clothing and fabric into warm quilts for flood vicitms in Owego) surprised Fred Ford today, by presenting him with the first full sized "Sweetheart quilt". Fred not only had two family homes flooded, but his "home away from home" the Mello-Dear Bingo Hall was also flooded. He not only plugged along working on the homes, but has been at the hall nearly every day since the flood, making sure things get back to running smoothly. The hall now has one furnace of the two replaced and the heat is back on. BINGO can't be too far behind. The week before the flood they had the welcome back BINGO night after not having any over the summer. Fred, Your Mello-Dears and the Sweetheart Quilters thank you for all you've done, trying to get things back on track. Oh! and the Mascot Chrissy has been there all along too.
