Lisa Houston Kalpokas for "Hung by the Chimney with care" stockings project for children. And Krista Carter Shaffer, herself a victim of the flood, a "Sweetheart Quilter" and all around go to gal in Owego, met today at the Mello-Dear Bingo Hall. The two are working along side the Mello-Dears and friends who are "Sweetheart Quilters" for the flooded families of Owego. The machines used by the quilters are also being used to make stockings and the hall will serve as a work station to fill the stockings later this month. Neighbor helping neighbor and working side by side to help a common cause, bringing Owego back to it's feet, one quilt and one stocking at a time.
