Today, Mello-Dears' Sweetheart Quilters worked side by side, sharing their space in the Bingo hall in Owego with project "Hung by the Chimney with Care", a group headed up by Lisa Kalpokas and Krista Carter Shaffer. The donated stockings will be delivered to families struck by the September flooding. This variety of stockings were all hand made by many different people, and even more generous elves donated items to stuff those stockings to the rims. They had age appropriate stockings from baby up to young adults. Some of the Elves were Cadets troop 40605, Taylor Kalpokas and Kelley Perkins, and Cub scout Eric Perkins from Pack 30 in Newark Valley. They will be delivering to adopted flood families and going door to door passing these stockings out before Christmas.
