ST Storm wins 1st at Disney Field Hockey Showcase

U16 Storm Wins Gold at Disney

A local travel field hockey team recently traveled to Orlando, FL to participate in the 2012 Disney Field Hockey Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Southern Tier Storm U16 and U19 teams participated in the event from February 9 - February 12. Both teams played hard and it paid off. The U16 team came in 1st in the Pluto Division winning the gold medal.

The Southern Tier Storm is a merger of the former Southern Tier Furies and Cyclones field hockey clubs and is lead by Head Coach, Stephanie Collins. The Storm also has U12 and U14 teams. The club is comprised of girls from various schools throughout the Southern Tier and NYS, including Owego Free Academy, Vestal, Whitney Point, Windsor, M-E and Seton Catholic.
