A pretty pair of courting Common Flickers were in my rose bed today searching for insects. These woodpeckers seemed to favor the area of the rose bed that I had disturbed in anticipation of spring. Their black-scalloped plumage is very attractive as are the polka-dots on their under-belly.

Beautiful capture. Love the one with the red heart on the back of it's head.
