Beautiful Sapsucker Woods in Ithaca is home to a variety of plants and animals in each of the seasons. The wide variety of birds include hawks, a barred owl, king-fishers, a variety of ducks and songbirds, and of course the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker for which the site was named. If you sit still long enough, you may even see elusive minks and muskrats. The highlight for me is seeing the nesting Great Blue Herons!
