Changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a site to see at least once in your life if you are in Washington, DC. But, in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed that Waterloo, NY was the birthplace of Memorial Day. If you can't get to Washington or Waterloo, check out the Memorial Day celebrations in your town over the weekend. You may just be able to be a part of the celebrations and remembrances!
