LOCAL CREEKS AND STREAMS LEVELS APPROACH THEIR BANKS IN WHITNEY POINT AND SURROUNDING AREAS IN THE SOUTHERN TIER

THE FLOOD WARNINGS THAT ARE OUT UNTIL 7AM WEDNESDAY MORNING ARE QUITE ACCURATE AS LOCAL RIVERS, CREEKS, AND STREAMS APPROACH THEIR BANKS IN WHITNEY POINT ON STATE ROUTE 26. THE SLIPPERY ICE MAY HAVE MELTED, BUT MOTORISTS MUST USE EXTRA CAUTION DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF HYDROPLANING ON OUR LOCAL WET ROAD AND HIGHWAYS. EXTREME CAUTION SHOULD BE USED IF YOU APPROACH A STRETCH OF ROADWAY UNDER WATER, VEHICLES CAN EASILY BE WASHED AWAY AND DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS COULD DROWN IN THE FLOOD WATERS!
