The festivities of Owego's Strawberry Festival Friday night block party came to a close, with a bang. Fireworks lit up the town, in many colors. From my vantage point at the South End of the bridge, you could hear the 'Ooohs and Ahs' from across the river as the fireworks burst into colors. Some of us watching, noticed the abundance of RED in the colors. No doubt, being the Strawberry Festival, Red is the popular color. After the September floods and still recovering nearly 9 months later, many people wondered if there was going to be a festival this year. They should have known how strong the community is. Looks like it would take much more to stop Owego's Annual Strawberry Festival. Now... for some Strawberry Short cake with whipped cream! See you there!
Berry-licious Bang of a Begining
