I feel more than obligated to submit a "story" for You News because there must be more people like me out there who had never experienced Tioga Gardens. I have lived in this area for practically my whole life & for the last 8 years, lived only 2 miles away from this little wonderland of all things flora.
Today marked my first visit. What an amazing place! From the tropical conservatory abundant with palms and other exotic vegetation (and fairies, I'm sure), to the rows and rows of potted herbs, vegetables, and flowers in every color imaginable in the greenhouses, to the beautiful landscaped property designed for weddings and other formal events.
My children and I marveled at the enchanting ponds, the orchids, and the many fountains suitable for wish granting.
The best part of this "local attraction": it's free! In larger cities you would expect to pay admission to view the spectacular array of plants and flowers in a similar venue, but here in Owego - it's free! Hooray for local small businesses!
I'll also mention that there are plenty of veggie plants left for sale - with some of the tomatoes on sale for buy one get one free.
Don't wait - check it out:
