On Saturday March 1st, 2008 our mother goat had babies. From the people we have talked to a goat has 3 babies. Out of these 3 babies 2 usually survive. We have even tryed saving all three when the goats had three before but have failed. This time she had 4 baby goats. All 4 of them are healthy as can be. We keep them in the house because of the cold weather and the mother doesn't like to take care of her babies. She never has, we have always taken them and raised them to where they were old enough to go down with her in the pen or be sold. We knew she was due to have at least two to three so we kept an eye on her for the past few weeks to make sure she was going to be alright. On Saturday night we went down to see how she was doing and she was in the process of giving birth. We expected only 3. At the last moment she surprised everyone and had a 4th baby. While she was giving birth to the first three and cleaning them one at a time we would bring them in the house knowing how she has taken care of her babies in the past. The third trip down to get the last baby to our surprise there was a fourth baby. Now all four of them are being kept in the house and eating well. They are all bouncy balls and eating very well. We expect them all to survive since they have made it this far, and they are as healthy as they are. I have included some pictures of these little miracles.
