Tonight, just as the rain began to fall, I found myself picking black berries with an umbrella in one hand and basket over my arm. The birds were loving the light sprinkling, and I either heard or saw, Goldfinches, Robins, Chickadees and a very helpful Gray Catbird. I was very still picking. Didn't have to move much there were berries within reach to keep me planted in one spot for 5 minutes at a time. The Catbird started calling near where I was picking. Sounded like "Berrry - Berrry". Sure enough, he was right where the "Mother load", of the most naturally planted blackberries I had ever seen. Someone's got to make some pies and muffins tomorrow! Lots of them!

Wow nice harvest....ours are not even close to ripe yet, hoping for enough rainfall for them to ripen before they dry up and disappear!
