A friend who lives on Marshland Road in Apalachin recently told me about how the W&W nursery was having a tree trunk carved into what she thought was going to be an eagle. This area of Apalachin was always treated to the beauty of these birds who nest on Hiawatha Island in Owego. As my friend sent updates on the progress of the chainsaw artists work, I became curious enough to go see it for myself. It was finished, and standing nearly 15' tall. It is truly worth seeing and a beautiful tribute. I did also notice 2 other trees stumps that seem to be waiting their turn, but for what I'm not sure. It will be exciting to see.
