I think that as long as you can get in the water, it is a good time to go kayaking. I broke the ice last year with my kayak, so it would melt quicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kayak almost every day. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
