Dad says good-bye !!

Hurry, Home!!

My husband Stanley Solyian, is being deployed to Iraq for the second time with the 133rd Quarter Master Unit out of Brooklyn, NY. This photo was taken at the Farewell Ceremony in Brooklyn. It was published in the NY Daily News paper on March 10, 2008. He has two daughters, Gabriella who is 16 months and Courtney who is 14 years old. After that picture was taken the Montel Williams Show called my husband and asked him what he would do with one more day here in the states and his reply,"spend it with my family." The Montel Williams show then called me and brought us to NYC to appear as a surprise to Stanley on the show. The show was about Military Families and how to deal with diffcult situations. There was another military person there who presented a bear that was made for him because when he was over seas his son didn't know who he was when he returned home and ran screamming from him. So this bear was to let his son hear his voice and know whi his father was. After that they presented Stanley with one of the Bears and it had a message on it from his children and myself wishing him safe return. When they gave the bear to Stanley hs pressed the bear and hear the message from his family and then Montel Williams said," Let's welcome your family." It was so wonderful for my and his daughters to see him one more time. After the show we were given one last day to be together before he left. They sent us out for the day to enjoy each other and provided a lunch for us to share at South side Sea Port in NYC. It was beautiful. The Montel Williams Show that we were on will air April 23rd 2008. It was a fairwell that we will never forget. We all will miss him dearly and hope for his safe return. Along with all the other soldiers and their families.
