Help the Chenango Forks HS and Art Department win up 50,000 in grant money!
The CF are in the running for a Clorox Bright Futures grant - people can go to the Clorox Bright Futures website, do a keyword search for "chenango forks" and vote for us.
The public can vote online or text your vote - and the public can vote daily. CF currently has approximately 500 iPad in grades Pre-K-12, with almost 100 in the HS alone, 17 in the hands of teachers and administrators, 2 in the Art Department and 4 complete classroom sets in the Core Content areas.
Our goal is to eventually have a complete 1:1 program in grades 9-12, short term goals include the addition of classroom sets in ELA and Art, and the creation of cross curriculum lessons and content in those 2 areas, specifically including the new CCS and NETS in an attempt to create educational material that begins to move us from a STEM (science technology engineering math) to a STEAM (science technology engineering art math) model. STEAM is a growing movement in areas of the country, and there is growing research to indicate that the inclusion of the Arts into the Core content areas makes for more active/ engaged learners, as well as better information retention and understanding, resulting in higher test scores.
This grant moves us towards that goal.
Chenango Forks completes for grant
