On April 16, 2008 I visited the Ponce De Leon Inlet Light Station and Museum. It has a private lighthouse that is still in operation. At 175 feet it is also the tallest in Florida. It is located 12 miles south of Daytona Beach. The buildings have been preserved to show what it was like keeping a lighthouse in the late 1800's. I was particularly fascinated by the Fresnel lens exhibit.
