The Guilford Historical Society is looking for Military Service Personnel to March in the Guilford Fire Dept. Annual Memorial Day Parade - May 26, 2008 - 8 AM
This will be a first for the hamlet of Guilford. In the past years we have always honored our veterans on Memorial Day, but this year we would like to have as many of them as possible join us in a special celebration for their service. If you served in a conflict, war or were in the service during peacetime, we welcome you.
The parade distance is not long on Main St. and provisions are being made for veterans to ride a float with chairs if they are unable to walk the distance. No uniform is required.
The Memorial Day Service will include a speech by the Honorable Clifford Crouch, New York State Assemblyman.
After the parade and memorial service is ended, we are inviting our veterans, their families and all who wish to join us at the Guilford Methodist Church on Main St. for a reception get together with a Continental Breakfast consisting of coffee, juice and pastries.
Line-up is at 8:00 AM at the end of School Street. Follow the signs.
Please call David Hubbard @ 895-6425 or Mary Ellen Parsons @ 895-6405 or email: Tom Gray tgray002@stny.rr.com if you can be part of the parade.
Please respond by May 17th, 2008 so we can plan ahead. Please try to attend. We want to thank all our veterans.
