Calling All Members, Historians and Railroad Buffs.........
and those with a general interest in railroad history. On February 9th 12:00 noon, the Guilford Historical Society presents “Chenango County Railroading, My Favorite Scenes and Stories” with special guest speaker John Taibi. The social will be held at the Guilford Methodist Church and Mr. Taibi will make the presentation at 1:00 pm.
Author/Historian John Taibi will be displaying photographs utilizing a PowerPoint presentation and discussing the operations of the O&W, D&H, and DL&W railroads in Chenango County. Mr. Taibi is the author of 10 books dealing with railroading subjects within Central New York, as well as over 110 short stories of similar subjects.
This program will examine some of the historic, noteworthy, interesting, and humorous events that have taken place within Chenango County during railroading’s nearly 150 years of operations within the county.
Along with his wife, Barbara, and their 4-footed kids Sara, Katie, and Vinnie, he lives in the old O&W depot in Munnsville which he restored to it’s original appearance.
Join us for a light lunch and a great program, highlighting the days of the rail in the Township of Guilford.
