Okay, so the waters weren't 'still'. They were moving quite swiftly on the Susquehanna at Grippen Park in Endicott today. Very slippery and muddy, so an extra long zoom lense and staying well away from the water. It LOOKED icy cold. From what I could imagine, the weight of the snow bent tree branches into the water, they froze, and later as the snow fell off the trees, the branches puled up leaving clumps of ice and snow dangling over the water.
Still waters run deep

Thank you Backyardnature! When it's icy like this, I'd suggest a long lens. I did not want to slip and fall in!
