On May 20, 2008, the Over 50 Group of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott celebrated the birthdays of its parishioners who are age 90 and older. A luncheon was offered in their honor in the St. Ambrose School cafeteria after the 12:05 Mass.
The occasion held a special significance this year because the parish is celebrating its centennial. Mary Adams, at age 101, is the oldest member of the parish. Sisters Mary Spencer, 100, and Grace Hanley, 98, were also among the honorees that included Mary Bradt, Domicelia Dickinson, Vera Dellos, Josephine Picciano and Dorothy Place. Rev. Charles Currie, pastor, addressed the honorees. Entertainment was provided by Becky Monforte, Gail and Paul Jones.
