@aspergantis: well said. I have a friend who was living at 261 Main; the right side of that building. He has been working hard to get his life right, and living here was just a stepping stone for him. You are right. Good luck to all who lived there.

I hope everyone got out okay, especially the kids. It's a welfare scumbag building.....it's a shame. I feel sorry for all the little kids though.

I live across the street and this fire is still going. It started at around 11pm last night and its still very strong.

This is 259-261 Main St., Binghamton. The fire is ripping through the building. The awesome FireFighters are doing all they can. I live nearby was just out, you can smell the fire all the way downtown near the Holiday Inn/Boscovs.
