Catherine Lancki and Jerry Wagner conduct a tour on May 18, 2008, of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott.

Tour historic St. Ambrose Church

On June 9, from 7 - 8:30 p.m., take a tour of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott as part of its year-long centennial celebration. The tour of the church at 203 Washington Avenue discusses its history from the laying of the cornerstone on July 12, 1908 up to the latest renovations.
The architect of St. Ambrose was Truman I. Lacey, who designed several Tier landmarks including the Press, Security Mutual and Kilmer buildings in downtown Binghamton as well as most of the Catholic churches. Inside you will find remarkable stained glass windows by Munich and Arts & Crafts Movement craftsmen, a historic church organ donated by George F. Johnson and a unique crucifix made by artisans in the Italian Alps.
Refreshments will follow the tour in Monsignor Carey Hall (in the church basement).
