This mother bear has been visiting us, with one or two of her cubs from last year, throughout the spring, at night. (The evidence has been destroyed feeders, bear prints on the deck, and neighbor sightings.) She has recently become bolder and wanders around Catlin Hill in Owego as though she holds title. We are forced to bring our bird feeders in at night. These photos were taken on June 9, 2008, around 7:30 p.m. One of her cubs was recently hit by a car and killed on Catlin Hill Road.
Visit to bird feeders by Mama Bear.
