Bald Eagles Return To Area

A Week Before huricane Sandy struck A large supporting branch broke and the whole nest collapsed. The DEC was aware of it.DEC personnel who monitors eagle nests in NY made mention that this was the only nest known to the DEC in NY that was in a Sycamore. Some 90% of nests are in White Pines, and the rest in other hardwoods. Some are even as far away from water as 2
miles. They are back and we are enjoying Eaglets as well as the parents. At 5:30 a.m. the Eaglet was in our backyard in our little waterfalls fishing....What a joy! We had thought we lost them forever in that storm last year. Thank you
