Tree of Solitude

Lonely Tree at Dusk

Just a pretty tree standing alone tonight on a chilly evening. Warmer than it's been though!

Thank you! I noticed this tree a few weeks ago and told myself that sometime I'd go get a picture of it! Last night I just jumped in the truck and did it.

I have to ask a question ... did you have camera set to incandescent WB? I don't know too many other ways to get blue snow.

Congratulations on the 5:30 news! They showed the uncropped shot, I like this one better too. Nice job!

Thanks jpmalonesr, I had the camera set to night landscape and shot. When I downloaded it, it was blue, but the snow was blue last night as the hill was in a shadow and shadows are usually blue.. I paint and I've always "seen" the shadows blue. :)

Incandescent WB (White balance)-camera setting to correct colors when shooting indoors under incandescent light bulbs. If you leave camera set this way and go outdoors it will make photos very blue. All cameras, even P&S have this setting.
