It's Maple Sap Time

With the extremely cold nights and warmer days, the maple sap has begun to run. The maple trees have been tapped and the sap is being collected to be boiled down. Time will tell how the extremely cold weather that we have had all winter will affect the flavor profile this year.

I always wondered what them buckets were for hanging on tree's ? I have seen them in the woods My whole life and just thought it was Hillbilly 'Port a John' to "Go In" ? ...LOL ... Just Joking :) Cant wait till the Syrup is ready this year !!!
