The Town and Village of Oxford in Chenago County celebrated their bicentennial this weekend with a parade and other activities. There were concerts, wagon rides, hose fights and of course, fireworks. The weather in the morning was pleasant and warm, with some thundershowers late in the afternoon, the first right after the airboat rescue demonstration by the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department. Brief showers continued through the night, holding off for the fireworks display, made more impressive by the distant lightning.
Thousands celebrate as Oxford turns 200
