Northern Bobwhite Quails

For the last couple of weeks,my family had been hearing a strange bird call and we've been looking all around to see what it was. My neighbors and my family have discovered that we have at least one set of Northern Bobwhite Quails. Today, we saw this pair eating bird food under the feeder, but they also like to sneak in our chicken pen to eat the chicken feed. While we were watching this set, we could hear more calls from the near by brush, so we think we have more than one set. They are small in size, about the size of a Mourning Dove and from a distant that is what I thought I was seeing. I grabbed my camera to see these beautiful birds. I've noticed that they aren't in the bird books as being a normal bird for our area, but they are normal in PA, perhaps they are coming more north now.

I enjoyed seeing your quail. I wish he would come my way.
