First Iris of 2014

My first Iris of 2014

Trying to outsmart the Deer this year by bringing in the first Iris to bloom in my garden. It sits proudly in a glass vase in our living room

I'd love to cut them but they never last very long. If they last I'd love to know your secret. Nice job in the garden!

Thanks, geode. Actually I was just trying to be funny, it is hard to come up with something to say for every photo, especially flowers - they speak for themselves. Also I use a product called liquid fence which has done a great job for me

Forgot to add this comment: I never had deer eat my iris flowers or bother the plants. There are a very few things they won't devour. They also have never touched my peonies and daffodils.
