The 7th Annual Legacy of the Valley included a new link this year with the addition of the Moreno/Woodruff Wedding Link. The new Mr. and Mrs. Michael Moreno chose the fund-raising, memorial event as a backdrop for their ceremony in remembrance of their late fathers, Carl Moreno and Leroy W. Woodruff, and in recognition of the joining of their two families. The Woodruff family, has been a part of the Legacy since its founding in 2002, when its patriarch, Leroy, served as the organization's first hot dog vender. The happy couple, shown here with Capt. Tim Shaffer, pastor of the Sayre Salvation Army Church, were joined by wedding guests and Legacy members as they walked a lap around the Waverly High School track in memory of their fathers. The bride carried a photograph of her dad to symbolize the father's walk down the aisle to the alter with his daughter. The Legacy is held each year on the last Saturday in July in the back yard of the Waverly High School.
