The Best man

Someone Special

My Husband: Andrew L. Morrison
If you were to meet my husband, your first impression would be that he was just an ordinary, unassuming gentleman. However, beneath this exterior disguise, he is the most amazing, caring, intelligent, hard working, hilarious loving human being who is always putting the needs of others first. There have been eleven foster children who have come through our home since 1980 and even when I contracted meningitis and was in the hospital for over a month, he diligently cooked for and cared for the two girls we had in our home. Most men would have asked for respite for the kids, but not him. At least three of the foster kids were first generations in their family to attend college. We currently have one child in our home that we are in the process of adopting. He is patient and has spent countless hours tutoring, counseling and just trying to develop a spirit of “Yes You Can” attitude in all who have come through our home. He taught them the importance of an education and always stressed the fact that life may take from you, but no one can take away your education. You own it!!!! Whenever a child was brought into our home, he felt it was important to make them feel secure and to know they were loved, no matter what life’s circumstances handed them. But, they also needed to do their part and be respectable, responsible and accountable. He taught them wonderful life lessons that many of the kids, now adults are still thanking him for his encouragement and belief in them when it was hard for them to believe in themselves. He is a tower of strength and we I truly admire him. He has gone through a lot of adversity in his life but has always maintained a positive attitude and outstanding work ethic. He continuously conquers any trial and/or tribulation and always comes out on top for the better of it. He is one person we sincerely appreciate and think highly of. He is currently preparing the teenager we currently have in our home to transition to ninth grade and encouraging her to continue being the independent, respectful human being she is. My husband is genuinely an unsung hero who makes everyone he encounters feel like they are somebody. We all cherish these moments we have to spend with him and look forward to seeing his face every morning when we wake up.
